The challenge

Creative work presents a different academic integrity problem.

Unlike essays or research papers, creative writing leaves little conventional audit trail. Writion changes that — by recording the business activity surrounding the creative process from the first day of a project.

✓
Proactive transparency
Students using Writion can include a Stage Journey Report with any creative submission — not as a response to suspicion, but as a straightforward record of process and practice.
✓
Independent when it matters
When academic integrity is formally in question, the Provenance Report provides a record the student has no ability to alter — dispatched by Writion directly to your institution in parallel with the student's copy.
✓
No creative content is ever shared
The report contains only business metadata — stage journey, word count history, activity counts, timestamps. No manuscript, no notes, no creative content. Student IP is protected by design.
How it works

A clear process for students and institutions alike.

1
The student submits
They include a Stage Journey Report with their creative work submission — a voluntary transparency measure showing the project's development over time, from first stage to completion.
2
A question is raised
If academic integrity around the work is formally questioned, you let the student know that a Provenance Report is required. The student initiates the request through Writion.
3
Writion dispatches
The identical Provenance Report is dispatched simultaneously to the student and to your institution's registered address. Neither party receives a different document.
Note for students

Students at a registered institution use Writion free when the institution covers their paper. Where it doesn’t, a $10 administration fee covers a full year. Student writers can create an account, track their projects, and generate Stage Journey Reports. Learn more about the student plan →
